Hot Digital Songs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hot Digital Songs chart ranks the best-selling digital singles in the United States, according to Billboard magazine.

Beginning in February 2005, digital sales have been incorporated into many of Billboard's music single charts. It was decided to do so mainly because the digital market was more reliable than the unpopular commercial single-sales market. The current #1 on the chart is "The Sweet Escape (song)" by "Gwen Stefani" feat."Akon" [1]

  • Fergie holds the record for the most downloads sold in one single week, when her song "Fergalicious", which sold about 295,000 digital downloads in January 2007. The second place belongs to Beyoncé and her song "Irreplaceable" with 269,000 digital downloads sold in January 2007. The third one is Shakira with "Hips Don't Lie" and 267,000 digital downloads sold in 2006.[citation needed]

1"Hollaback Girl" was the first single ever to sell over a million downloads.
