The Huayco Tinamou (Rhynchotus maculicollis) is a type of Tinamou found in semi-arid habitats, including thorn-scrub and cereal fields from 1000 m to 3000 m altitude. This species is native to Bolivia and Argentina with an estimated global extent of occurrence of 114,000 km2. The status of this species is evaluated as Least Concern by BirdLife International. Previously, it was considered a subspecies of the Red-winged Tinamou, but its head and neck are streaked and spotted black.
