Hyde Park, Los Angeles, California

Hyde Park is a district in South Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California, United States. It is bordered by Inglewood to the East, and by Leimert Park and Crenshaw to the North. Hyde Park begins at Florence Avenue to the South, going on Crenshaw Boulevard to the West.
Hyde Park is a majority black area, just like most of this portion of Los Angeles. Several Blacks moved to this area from nearby places, like Compton, and Watts. The population is around 37,000. As of 2006, the racial make up of Hyde Park was 1.63% White, 68.73% Black, 0.38% American Indian & Alaskan Native alone, 0.71% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian & Other Pacific Islander alone, 17.11% some other race, 3.95% two or more races, and 27.32% Hispanic or Latino.
Residents are served by the Los Angeles Unified School District through 2 schools:
- Crenshaw High School
- Angeles Mesa Elementary School
Nearby Angeles Mesa Elementary is the Hyde Park Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.
