I Know Him So Well

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"I Know Him So Well" is a song from the musical, Chess, by Tim Rice, Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. In this duet, two women (one is a character's wife, the other is his mistress) each express their bittersweet feelings at seeing their relationship fall apart.

The duet was number one in the UK for 4 weeks in 1985 when released as a single by Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson. This recording remains in the Guinness Book of Records for biggest-selling single by a female duo. Paige also appeared in the original London production of Chess.

It has been covered by Steps, and released as a single on their The Last Dance album. The song has also been covered by Whitney Houston and her mother Cissy Houston on the album Whitney.
