From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ihiala is a city in Nigeria, located in the south of the state Anambra, and has long served as the local administrative capital of the zone. The current population is about 87,796 persons. [1] Ihiala consists of several smaller towns, such as Azia, Okija, Mbosi, Iseke, Orsumoghu, Ubuluisuzor, and Uli, and lies in the agricultural belt of the state.
The Biafran International Airport was located in Uli during the Nigerian Civil War, which was used for humanitarian relief.
Ihiala is an unusually peaceful part of the country, thus attracting many settlers wishing to escape other chaotic Nigerian cities.
