Ilona Rodgers

Ilona Rodgers (born April 28, 1942) is a British actress and television presenter who has lived and worked in several countries.

In the United Kingdom in 1964 she played the role of Carol in The Sensorites, a six episode adventure of the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who. Other television roles included guest appearances in The Saint and The Avengers.

Rodgers lived in New Zealand from 1973 and in Australia between 1978 and 1985.

She appeared in nine episodes of the Australian television drama Prisoner in the early 1980s. Her character, Zara Moonbeam, was a medium who claimed to have clairvoyant powers. In the story she was coerced by Nola McKenzie into impersonating Bea Smith's deceased daughter Debbie while suggesting to Bea that it was Debbie's ghost. Nola hoped it would drive Bea to suicide, however Bea figured out that she was being tricked and got her revenge.

Other Australian appearances included the drama programs The Sullivans, Sons and Daughters and the mini-series The Anzacs.

After relocating to New Zealand again, her work included the soap opera Shortland Street and presenting duties on a light entertainment and advertorial focused program called Good Morning.

Stage work has included the one-woman play Shirley Valentine, By Degrees written by Roger Hall and Three Tall Women by Edward Albee.
