Incesticide is a compilation album of rare songs, b-sides and studio outtakes released by Nirvana on December 14, 1992 in Europe, and December 15, 1992 in the U.S. It was released through Geffen Records. The album reached No. 39 in the Billboard Top 200. The cover art is a painting by the band's frontman, Kurt Cobain. The title is a portmanteau of the words "incest" and "insecticide".

Early pressings of the CD contained liner notes written by Kurt Cobain. The liner notes were discontinued around the time of Cobain's death. Initial copies in the US and Canada also contained a "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" sticker. [1]

Retail singles were not re-released for Incesticide, however the song charted in Ireland two years after release, shortly after the success of Nevermind. A music video was made for Sliver as promotion for Incesticide in 1992-1993.
