Infra-Red is the third single from Placebo's sixth studio album, Meds, and was released on the 19th June 2006. It is a typical passive-aggressive Placebo song. The song peaked #42 in the UK, #35 on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart, and #91 in Germany.

The words "Beggar's Banquet", featured on its lyrics, are the name of a Rolling Stones' album .

A live version of the song is available on the live at la cigale download only EP

This was the song that was used by SBS for stage 19 of the 2006 Tour de France, the final Individual Time Trial of that year's Tour.

The music video is likely a stab at the war on terrorism. It features politicians seemingly conspiring against the public. Meanwhile, a group of ants interfere with their files. A character (apparently, the President) gives a speech with the help of a computerised prompter. The ants' interference causes the prompter to say "I lied to you. We are the enemy.", which the president says.
