Innocent Records

Innocent Records is a pop record label that was created to cater to pre-teen and teenage music fans. Originally set up as an offshoot of EMI's Virgin Records Group, it was re-organised under the Angel Music Group division when managing director of the label Hugh Goldsmith left to set up a similar label at Sony BMG called Brightside Recordings.

Innocent Records was also the name of an independent Australian label that released records betwen 1979 and 1983. Run by David Chesworth and Philip Brophy. It was set up to release music by Tch Tch Tch, Essendon Airport, David Chesworth and others. It also released two compilations of new music from the Clifton Hill Community Music Centre 1978/79 and 1980. Many releases had screen printed covers created by Brophy and Maria Kozic and most records were recorded by Chesworth and John Campbell.
