Institute of Management Technology (IMT) is a business school in India. Its primary campus is located at Ghaziabad in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It also has two other campuses, one in Nagpur (India) and one in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

The Institute of Management Technology was established in 1980 by industrialist Mahendra Nath, together with Dr. C. B. Gupta.

IMT has campuses in Ghaziabad and Nagpur, India and Dubai, UAE.

IMT offers following programmes:

PGDBM is the oldest programme. IMT also caters to the needs of business executives of various companies through its 3-year part time postgraduate programme (PGDBM P/T). Corporate participants can enroll in the MDP (Management Development Programme) to enhance their business skills and learn managerial decision making. IMT's Fellow Program in Management (FPM) programme provides doctoral level education in business management and other related disciplines.

To cater to the needs of international business managers, IMT has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management - International Business (PGDBM-IB) programme.

Distance learning (DLP) and E-learning programmes of IMT are other programmes designed to for the relevant category of students who are unable to take up a full time or part time MBA course.

IMT also undertakes national and international projects that cater to governments, corporations and other organizations.

IMT's educational programs have been recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India

While the Ghaziabad Campus offers all the courses, the Nagpur and Dubai campuses offer a selection of the above courses only.

Prospective students are required to qualify by taking the CAT and post that a group discussion and an interview.

IMT currently has around 50 core faculty. Students also play a role in faculty selection.

Apart from permanent faculty, IMT is also visited by a number of visiting faculty from both the industry and other academic institutions. Around 35 visiting faculty are associated with IMT.

IMT has 3 campuses: The first one is in Ghaziabad, which was established in 1980, the newly established second campus is in Nagpur (established in 2004) and a third campus is in Dubai (established in 2006).

IMT Nagpur has been conceptualized as a centre for corporate excellence. The IMT Dubai campus is primarily for catering to need for international education.

The Ghaziabad campus is a 14.7 acre fully residential campus and is the primary campus of IMT. It was established in 1980. It presently offers both PGDBM and PGDCA courses through its educational facilities. All the students are housed in 10 hostels.

This campus also has many "Centres of Excellence" like the Centre for Global Supply Chain Management.

A football field, an badminton and table tennis court, a floodlit volleyball court, a floodlit basketball court, a floodlit tennis court, jogging tracks and a multipurpose gymnasium are some of the key recreational features of the campus.

This being the primary campus, offers all the programmes of IMT.

The Nagpur campus is the second campus of IMT. The newly established center, spanning an area of 25 acres, has a Wi-Fi campus with facilities offering PGDBA in various disciplines (marketing/finance/HR/IT/etc.) and MCA degrees. Most of IMT's programmes will also be offered from this campus in the near future.

It is equipped with modern infrastructure and well-equipped hostel.

The first batch of students graduated from IMT Nagpur in 2006.

The newly established center is situated at the Academic City, Dubai. The institute offers hostel and transport facilities.

The 17 acre Wi-fi campus is designed to conform to world standards.

The Dubai campus is the third campus of IMT.

Presently 3 courses are being offered from this campus -

  • MBA (Full Time)
  • Executive MBA (Full Time)
  • Executive MBA (Part Time)

All the courses are licensed by Ministry of Higher Education, Government of U.A.E.

The part time MBA course is conducted in the evenings and the duration of this course is 18 months.

Admission is based on Graduate Management Admission Test/CAT scores or a test conducted by IMT and a group discussion, interview and academic records, he said.

The first batch commenced from September 2006.

Interaction with the corporate sector is done through -

  • Guest lectures
  • Shrinkhla, a series of seminars on various important issues facing the industry
  • Synergies, a series of round table conferences of industry heads
  • Compass, an annual consultancy symposium
  • Conquest, a series of live short-term projects in the area of HR

Various other competitions are also organized. A few of them are as follows -

  • Chakravyuh, B-school sports festival at IMT, Ghaziabad
  • Tatva, Inter B-School Summer Internship Presentation Contest, at IMT, Ghaziabad
  • Passion is the annual B-school fest of IMT, Ghaziabad.


IMT is rated as one of the top 10[1][2] management institutes in India.
