InterSystems Corporation (ISC) is a vendor of software for high-performance database management, rapid application development, integration, and healthcare information systems. Its products are the Caché DBMS and application development environment, the Ensemble integration platform, and the HealthShare health information network platform. InterSystems also has a subsidiary, Trak Health, which operates outside the United States and sells the TrakCare healthcare information system.

InterSystems is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They have sales offices in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom.

InterSystems is privately held.

Founded in 1978 by Phillip T. (Terry) Ragon, who remains its CEO.

InterSystems was one of the original vendors of M-technology (aka MUMPS) systems, with a product called ISM. Over the years, InterSystems acquired several other MUMPS implementations: DTM from Data Tree (1993); DSM from Digital (1995); and MSM from Micronetics (1998); making InterSystems the dominant M technology vendor. InterSystems eventually started combining features from these products into one they called OpenM.

InterSystems launched Caché in 1997. At that time they stopped new development for all of their legacy M-based products (although the company stills supports existing customers who use them).

InterSystems launched Ensemble in 2003.

HealthShare was launched in 2006.

In 2007, InterSystems purchased Trak Health, an Australian vendor of TrakCare, a modular healthcare information system that is based on InterSystems’ technology.
