Interdenominational Theological Center
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) is a consortium of denominational seminaries founded in 1958 through the mutual efforts of four denominations, representing four seminaries, whose mission is to educate Christian leaders for ministry and service in the Church and the global community. The ITC educates and nurtures women and men who commit to and practice a liberating and transforming spirituality; academic discipline; religious, gender, and cultural diversity; and justice and peace.
Currently, ITC is home to six seminaries: Gammon Theological Seminary (United Methodist Church), Morehouse School of Religion (Baptist), Turner Theological Seminary (African Methodist Episcopal), Phillips School of Theology (Christian Methodist Episcopal Church), Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary (Presbyterian Church (USA)), and Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary (Church of God in Christ). There is also the Harry V. Richardson Fellowship for those students outside of the Six Major Seminaries and Non-Denominational Students. The ITC offers Master of Divinty (M.Div), Master of Arts in Christian Education (M.A.C.E.), Master of Arts in Church Music (M.A.C.M.), Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.), and Doctor of Theology (Th. D.).
