International Lacrosse Federation

International Lacrosse Federation was founded in 1974 to promote and develop the game of men's lacrosse throughout the world. As of 2006, the international governing bodies for men's and women's lacrosse are separate, which is one of the obstacles of lacrosse one day becoming an Olympic sport.

The 14 full member nations are: Australia; Canada; Czech Republic; England; Germany; Ireland; Iroquois Nations; Japan; South Korea; Netherlands; New Zealand; Scotland; Sweden; United States; and Wales.

The affiliate member nations are: Argentina; Bermuda; Denmark; Hong Kong; Finland; Italy; and Tonga.

The ILF conducts the World Lacrosse Championship, World Indoor Lacrosse Championship and Under-19 Men's World Lacrosse Championship.
