The Iraqi Football Association (Arabic: الاتحاد العراقي لكرة القدم) is the governing body of football in Iraq, controlling the Iraqi national team and the Iraq Super League. It was founded in 1948, and has been a member of FIFA since 1950 and the Asian Football Confederation since 1971. On 29 July 2007 the Iraqi national football team defeated the Saudi Arabia in the 2007 AFC Asian Cup 1-0 with a goal scored by the captain Younis Mahmoud at the 71st minute .
