James Sellar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Sellar, born March 24, 1989 in Adelaide, is an Australian rules footballer, who was selected at the 2006 AFL Draft by the Adelaide Crows at No. 14 overall, a bargain pick considering he was touted as a potential top-5 pick. At 195cms height and weighing 89kgs, Sellar is a key position forward who can also help out with some ruck duties.

Sellar was named best player at the national Under 16 Championships in 2005[1] and played in the Under 18 national championships in 2006.

Sellar played for the Glenelg Football Club in the SANFL, debuting at League level in 2006. Should he not be selected to play at the AFL level with the Adelaide Crows, he will continue to play for Glenelg in the SANFL as there is no Reserves level competition in the AFL.

Sellar has represented Australia in the International Rules Youth Test between Australia and Ireland. He has also represented Australia in Volleyball, in the Under 19 Internationals in Taiwan.

In 2006 Sellar completed his final year at Brighton Secondary School along with other AFL draftees Bryce Gibbs and Mark Austin.
