Jerry Donahue

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jerry Donahue (born September 24, 1946, Manhattan, New York City) is a guitarist who has played for Poet And The One Man Band, Fotheringay, Fairport Convention, Joan Armatrading and more recently, the Hellecasters. Jerry is a technical master, and a hallmark of his musical vocabulary is the technique of string "bending". In fact, Telecaster player Danny Gatton praised Donahue as "the string-bending king of the planet." Jerry has released instructional videotapes, and more recently has produced solo projects including Sandy Denny's "Gold Dust, Live at the Royalty" (May 1998), and the The Animals' "Instinct" (2004).

Jerry's signature Strat' was even modified with a metal plate under the pickup to more closely emulate the Telecaster sound. More recently (2005) Peavey released the "Jerry Donahue Signature Omniac Guitar".
