James (Jim) Gordon Krakouer (born October 13, 1958) was an Australian rules footballer in the 1980s for North Melbourne and St Kilda in the VFL and Claremont in the WAFL.
As a footballer, he was awarded with the Syd Barker Medal for North Melbourne club best & fairest in 1986. He was also named in the Indigenous Team of the Century.
Krakouer was convicted and imprisoned in 1996 for 16 years for his part in a drug trafficking scheme dealing with amphetamines.
Krakouer, having served nine years of his sentence, was paroled in 2004.
Krakouer is the father of former Richmond AFL player Andrew Krakouer. His brother Phil Krakouer also played for North Melbourne.
He currently lives in Melbourne, Victoria and works in the building industry.
