Jimmie Walker (born June 25, 1947 in The Bronx, New York) is an American actor and stand-up comedian. Walker has been named "Comedian of the Decade" by Time Magazine.

With appearances in many films and television shows, Walker is perhaps best known for his role as James "J.J." Evans, Jr. on the 1970s CBS sitcom, Good Times. While on the show, he was known for his catch phrase "Dy-no-mite!"

Walker is a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School. Through a federal program known as SEEK, or "Search for Education, Evaluation, and Knowledge", he continued his studies and entered into the field of radio engineering with local station WRBR. In 1967, he began working full time with WRBR. Two years later he began performing as a stand-up comedian and was eventually discovered by the casting director for Good Times after making appearances on Laugh In and the Jack Paar Show. As of 2005, Walker continues to tour the United States with his stand-up routine; in his spare time he writes scripts for television and film.

Jimmie Walker's character was 26 years old on the hit 1970s sitcom, Good Times, during the 1973-74 season, but became 32 years old when the show aired on the 1978-79 season.

Walker has been doing hard-hitting political and issue-oriented talk radio for over a quarter century, in which he espouses his libertarian-leaning views. He has worked for a number of stations around the country, including outlets in Dayton, Ohio, San Antonio, Texas, Omaha, Nebraska and WLS in Chicago. [1]

• He was spoofed on The Man Show during a "Movies Men Don't Want to See" segment. His movie was "Jimmie Walker: Texas Ranger. He's cleaning up the West with DY-NO-MITE!"
• Jimmie was a frequent panelist on Match Game, and his voice and cartoon likeness appears on the Match Game slot machine in North American casinos.
• In Eddie Murphy's stand-up comedy film Eddie Murphy Raw, Murphy reenacts an event that happened to him in which a large Italian-American man punches him in the mouth swelling up his lips. While recovering on a nearby curb, many people come up to him thinking he's Jimmie Walker due to his large swollen lips.
• He and his Good Times co-star Bernadette Stanis appeared in Camp Lo's video "Black Nostaljack" reprising their character
