Joe Avezzano (born November 17, 1943, Yonkers, New York) is the special teams coach for the National Football League's Oakland Raiders. He was an American college and professional football player. He played college football at Florida State University, where he was a center. He played professionally in the American Football League for the Boston Patriots in 1966.

He became the special teams coach for Oakland in 2004 after a stint as the head coach of the Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League. Before that, he was the head coach for the Oregon State Beavers from 1980-1984 and the special teams coach for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League from 1990-2002. In 2002, Avezzano served as both the special teams coach of the Cowboys and as the head coach of the Dallas Desperados. Avezzano was a part of the Cowboys three Super Bowl titles during the 90's. He is also the only three time winner of NFL Special Teams Coach of the Year.
