Joey Fatone was born in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn, New York to Italian-Albanian-American parents, Joe and Phyllis. He has two older siblings, Janine and Steven. He showed an inclination towards performing for an audience since his youth. By the age of seven he made his first appearance as an extra in the film Once Upon a Time in America, a drama about gangsters starring Robert De Niro.

Joey grew up in Orlando, Florida where he graduated from Dr. Phillips High School. While he is much-traveled, he often returns to his hometown.

He married his long-time girlfriend Kelly Baldwin on September 9, 2004. They have a daughter together named Brianna.

He is mostly known for singing tenor in the group 'N Sync.

Joey has had a dramatic run on Broadway. In Little Shop of Horrors he played Seymour, and in Rent, he played Mark.

Before joining 'N Sync in the mid '90s, he also performed in Beetlejuice's GraveYard Revue as "Wolfie" at the Universal Orlando Resort.

Joey performed in the 2002 dramatic comedy motion picture My Big Fat Greek Wedding as Toula's cousin Angelo. He also acted in the critically acclaimed movie The Cooler. His experience as "Wolfie" during Beetlejuice's GraveYard Revue prepared him for the dramatic placement of another "Wolfie" within the experimental film musical version of Red Riding Hood. Joey Fatone's character is fun-loving and takes some falls. His expressive portrayal is shown in this movie clip. Then, returning to the genre of situation comedy seen during the Nia Vardalos classic, he is "part of the family" in a comedy with an ethnic twist called Homie Spumoni.

Joey has a habit of working with best friend and former bandmate Lance Bass. The two starred together in the 2001 Miramax film On the Line, and also did voice work together on the same episodes of Disney's Kim Possible and Adult Swim's Robot Chicken. The pair is now shooting the pilot for a sitcom in the style of The Odd Couple. The two will play roommates, Bass's character being gay and Fatone's character being straight. The sitcom is set to premiere on The CW in the fall of 2007.

Fatone is currently working with The Daily Buzz, doing many projects, and is a featured contestant on the the ABC television network's Dancing with the Stars.

On February 20, 2007, the ABC television network announced that Joey would be a participant in its Spring 2007 Season 4 of Dancing with the Stars reality show, which aired March 19. [1] He is currently competing with professional partner Kym Johnson. They received a 24 out of 30 for their Cha Cha, and were the highest scoring couple during the first week of the season. In the second round of competition, they received 24 out of 30 once more for their Quick Step, for a two week total of 48 out of 60.
