John from Cincinnati

John From Cincinnati is an American television drama, set against the surfing community of Imperial Beach, California. It is set to be broadcast on HBO. It is the result of a collaborative effort between Mark Tinker, David Milch and writer Kem Nunn, whose novels have been termed surf noir.[1] The series begins filming this "November for premiere next summer."

The series will star Bruce Greenwood, Austin Nichols, Rebecca De Mornay, Luke Perry, Brian Van Holt, Dayton Callie, Jim Beaver, and Ed O'Neill among others.[2] Milch is an established name in television production, he created Deadwood and co-created NYPD Blue.[3]


The series includes surfing sequences by well respected surfers Brock Little, Keala Kennelly, Dan Malloy, John-John Florence, Shane Beschen and Herbie Fletcher.[4]

The main filming location is at the old El Camino Motel in Imperial Beach, California. Other filming locations include Newhall and Santa Clarita, California.
