Jonathan Tickle (born 8 May 1974 in Staines) is a television presenter in the UK, who initially rose to fame as a contestant on the fourth series of the British Big Brother.

Tickle is the first of six housemates to have been allowed to return to the house after having been evicted into the outside world (although during his second time in the house he was not eligible to win), along with Kinga in series 6 and Nikki, Grace, Lea and Mikey in series 7 (although these four went back into the "house next door" and only Nikki and, very briefly, Grace actually set foot back in the main house). He returned after the public voted on which evicted housemate should be put back into the house.

Voted 13th most popular housemate of all time^{[citation needed]}, Tickle has more fan websites than any other housemate, most notably "Jon Tickle - The Legend" [1]. He is also, famously, the object of devotion of the Brethren of the Church of Jon - a still thriving organisation set up in his honour on the Channel 4 Big Brother forums during Big Brother 4. He was also a contestant on a celebrity edition of Distraction winning roughly £3,200 for cancer research.^{[citation needed]}

Tickle, a physics graduate of the University of Leicester, has gone on to co-present Brainiac: Science Abuse, a series of science-based shows on the UK television station Sky One, in which he is the 'sciencey one' and the most daring of all Brainiacs, in contrast to Richard Hammond who is a more entertainment focused presenter. The most famous experiment on the show^{[citation needed]} was of Jon walking on a swimming pool full of custard powder and water.

Tickle has had many ideas and one of his most famous is the "time-delay toaster."^{[citation needed]} The Sun newspaper thought it was so good, they patented it whilst he was inside the house.^{[citation needed]} "What's the problem with toast? Two slices pop up, you whip one out, and spread some margarine on it. But by the time you get the second, the consistency has changed. Why not have a time delay?"
