KKAG (AM 740) is a radio station located in Fargo, North Dakota.
It's owner is Jeffrey Dress of Kennewick, Washington. KKAG signed on testing its signal on November 13, 2006 with open carriers and test tones. It is currently not known when KKAG will officially sign on, and what radio format it will carry, although classic country music has been heard on the station while testing.
There has been wide speculation in the radio industry within the Fargo radio market on its format, and whether KKAG is connected to Jim Ingstad, who purchased Clear Channel's Fargo stations (including KFGO), or to a relgious broadcaster such as Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).[1]
KKAG has not been on the air since Thanksgiving 2006, and its construction permit (CP) expired on December 17, 2006. KKAG renewed its CP just before December 17 for extended construction time.
KKAG's six tower transmitter site is located north of Glyndon, Minnesota (northeast of Fargo).
KKAG's Station Studio's have been built in the Wells Fargo Building, at the corner of 25th Street and 13th Avenue. However, as of March 26, 2007, there has not been a sound out of the station or management. Attempts to contact anyone connected with the owner for further information have not provided any results.
