KTKU is a commercial country music radio station in Juneau, Alaska, broadcasting on 105.1 FM.
KTKU signed on the air in 1984 as the first commercial FM station in the capitol city of Juneau. It was debuted under the ownership of Roy Pascal, longtime cable guru of South Central Alaska, as the sister station of AM KJNO.
Programming was directed by Paul Demers who put together a fulltime airstaff including Rick Rydell as the morning show host, Paul Glazier as middays, Paul Demers afternoons, and Tracy Sharp as evenings.
Future Mayor of Juneau, Dennis Eagan, was the first General Manager.
KTKU was Top 40 with album cuts when it debuted as Taku 105, being branded after the massive Taku ice field which lies directly above the city.
