Kaahumanu III

Queen consort Miriam Auhea Kalani Kui Kawakiu o Kekauluohi Kealiiuhiwaihanau o Kalani Makahonua Ahilapalapa Kai Wikapu o Kaleilei a Kalakaua also known as Ka'ahumanu III (27 July 1794 - 7 June 1845), was Kuhina Nui of Hawaii and a queen consort of king Kamehameha the Great.
She was born as the only daughter of Alii Kalaimamahu (uncle of Kamehameha the Great) and his wife lady Alii Kaheiheimalie Kalakaua of Maui who herself later married Kamehameha the Great.
Through her mother she was a step-daughter of king Kamehameha the Great, founder of the kingdom.
In 1817 she was married to king Kamehameha the Great as his eighth wife. Her husband died 1819.
She became Kuhina Nui of Hawaii as Ka'ahumanu III from 5 April 1839 and she was given the name Kaahumanu, already born by two preceding kuhina nui.
