Kakashi (案山子?) is a 2001 Japanese horror movie directed by Norio Tsuruta. It is also known under its English title Scarecrow (a literal translation of the Japanese title).
The story is based on a manga by Junji Ito. The main character Kaoru, in search for her brother, ends up in a remote mountain village. As her car breaks down, she spends a few nights in the village, where the villagers are preparing for the yearly Scarecrow Festival. As she struggles with unsettling dreams, strange things start happening.
