Karlsborg Municipality is a Municipality in Västra Götaland County, in western Sweden. Its seat is in Karlsborg (pop. 3,700 ; coor. 58°32′N 14°31′E).

The town of Karlsborg was established and grew due to the construction of Karlsborg Fortress, during the 19th century. According to the principles of a central defense, the fortress was designated as the reserve capital of Sweden in the event of war.

Tiveden National Park is partly situated within the municipality. The Flugebyn airfield, home of the Westrogothia Skydiving Club (Västergötlands Fallskärmsklubb) also lies in the municipality.
