Kel Johari Rice Mitchell (born August 25, 1978 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actor.

Mitchell has remained in the industry post-"All That", doing predominately voice-over work. 1999, he starred in the movie Mystery Men as Invisible Boy. He once appeared as a co-host of the dance competition TV program Dance 360; however, the show was later cancelled. Kel is currently the voice for T-Bone in Clifford the Big Red Dog on PBS Kids. He has appeared in episodes of the American series The Parkers, and One on One. He also appeared in films Like Mike 2: Streetball, Caught On Tape, and Platonically.

Most famous for his role in Nickelodeon's hit show Kenan & Kel which ran from 1996 to 2000, totalling 61 episodes. He starred alongside his best friend Kenan Thompson. He began his acting career when he was 13, and at 17 became well-known as an original cast member on Nickelodeon's All That from 1995 to 1999, before he and co-star Kenan Thompson then starred in Kenan & Kel. Mitchell also starred in a 1997 major motion picture, titled Good Burger, which is the movie version of one of his and Thompson's sketches from All That, and is widely regarded as a cult classic. Kel Mitchell's character in Kenan & Kel made him famous for hilarious antics and adorable persona. The duo also appeared together in Sister Sister. In 2006, Mitchell played a one-time spokesmodel for KFC, constantly using the pharse "____ a little"

Mitchell married Tyisha Hampton-Mitchell on October 16, 1999. They divorced in 2005. They have three children. Their names are Allure (6), Don (2), and Lyric (7).


There were rumors that Kel Mitchell passed away on July 9th 2006, but these have been proved to be rumors. It started as a internet hoax on the popular website Myspace and as a chain e-mail. These types of hoaxes have also been attributed to Sinbad, Jon Heder, and Jaleel White.
