Kensal Rise is on the North London Line on Chamberlayne Road in north London, and in Travelcard Zone 2. It opened at in 1873 as Harlesden, replacing a station of the same name at the crossing of Green Lane (later Wrottesley Road). It was renamed Kensal Rise in 1890.

The station is located at grid reference TQ235832.

The typical off-peak service is four trains per hour towards Richmond, and four trains per hour towards Stratford.
