Kevin Davies (born March 26, 1977 in Sheffield, England) is an English football player who currently plays for Bolton Wanderers F.C. as a striker.

Contents

Davies originally made his name as a vital part of the Chesterfield F.C. team which reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1997[1], scoring a hat-trick against current club Bolton Wanderers F.C. at Burnden Park, before losing in controversial circumstances to Middlesbrough F.C..

He moved to Southampton F.C. in May 1997 and, in his first 13 month spell with them, scored nine league goals. When Blackburn Rovers F.C. signed him for £7.5 million the following season, his potential as a player somewhat overshadowed his form at the club. Making only occasional starts, he scored just one league goal before returning to his previous club, Southampton, in exchange for Egil Østenstad in August 1999.

However, just two league matches into his return at Southampton, he found himself sent off in a defeat against Liverpool F.C., after coming on as a substitute for Mark Hughes. He was unable to get back into the first team and was loaned out to Millwall F.C.. He subsequently joined Bolton, winning the club's Player of the Year award in 2004.
