Lachin (Azerbaijani: Laçın) is a rayon of Azerbaijan. Since the Nagorno-Karabakh War, the area has been under the control of Armenia who refer to it as Berdzor. Lachin once had a notable Muslim Kurdish population, but presently the region is populated only by a dwindling number of Armenians, most of whom were resettled here after the Nagorno-Karabakh war[2]. It is the main land link between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
