Lake Erie College

Lake Erie College is a private liberal arts college that is located in Painesville, Ohio, approximately 30 miles east of Cleveland. As of the 2005-2006 academic year, the enrollment was 654 undergraduates and 270 graduate students.
Lake Erie is best known for its equine studies program, which attracts students from across the country and is the most popular major at the college. The Humphrey Equestrian Center is located 5 miles to the south of the main campus, in Concord Township.
Prior to 1986, it was one of three remaining women's colleges in Ohio, along with Ursuline College and Notre Dame College, the latter of which is also now co-educational.
Athletics Lake Erie participates in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), and is a member of the NCAA, Division III. The most successful program, thus far, has been the Men's Basketball team which won the AMCC Regular Season and AMCC Tournament Title. They had a 21-6 overall record, and became the first Lake Erie team to reach the NCAA Tournament in any sport. Also, the Men's Soccer team was runner-up of the conference and participated in the Eastern College Athletic Conference ECAC Tournament. The Women's Softball Team also had a solid year with a 26-16-1 overall record and 14-4 AMCC record, and an ECAC post season bid.
