Le Shok was a new wave punk rock band from Long Beach, California.

Formed in 1997, the band began as The Shock and originally consisted of Treadwell bassist Asshole Andrew, The Locust keyboardist Joey Juvenile, and singer Hot Rod Todd.

The three members eventually tried to convince Crimson Curse/ The Locust vocalist/ bassist Justin Pearson to join the band. Pearson ultimately did not join Le Shok. After hearing a crude demo tape, Action League bassist Darryl Licht joined the band as the keyboardist. Hot Rod Todd was then able to convince Over the Counter Rusty (Treadwell) to join the band to play bass. The first three 7" vinyl releases were "So What" on tigersuit records, the "Le Shok/ Electric Frankenstein" split on Know Records and "DNA" also on tigersuit records. Next the band released another split 7" with Ink & Dagger on Initial Records.

After Gold Standard Laboratories put out their only album, consisting of 13 songs in less than 15 minutes, they departed on their first U.S. tour. Shitty Shaan then joined the group on second guitar and they performed together for a short time as a six piece until Darryl quit and Shaan moved to keyboards. As a 6-piece band, Le Shok released the "Le Shok/ The Stitches" split 7", the "S&M" 7" and the "LA to NY" 6". Andrew quit the band shortly thereafter and Shitty Shaan took over his guitar duties while the band scrambled to locate a keyboardist for their second U.S. tour.

The band originally attempted to enlist I'm Gonna Stab You guitarist Orlando Sanchez and then Strictly Ballroom's Jimi Hey, before finally settling on John Fones of the Wrangler Brutes. After performing with the group for the domestic tour Fones refused to join as a full time member and Darryl rejoined briefly for a short Gold Standard Laboratories showcase tour of California. Being unable to find a suitable keyboardist, Shaan soon left, ultimately signaling the demise of the band in early 2001.

After breaking up, members of Le Shok went on to play with Nazti Skinz, Neon King Kong, The Distraction, T-Cells, and FM Bats.
