Lee Chun-Soo (born 9 July 1981) is a football player from South Korea. He was a key member of his national team during the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 Summer Olympics. He also wrote a book on his World Cup experience, accusing then coach Guus Hiddink of excessively using foul language on players. Lee also criticized several teammates in the book.

After the World Cup, Lee moved to Real Sociedad of Spain, becoming the first Korean to play in the Spanish La Liga. However, after a season of mediocre performance, he was sent on loan to another Spanish side Numancia, before returning to Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i of South Korea's K-league.

Though Lee joined Ulsan in the middle of the season, his performance was invaluable to Ulsan's triumph as the champions of the 2005 season with a hat-trick in the first leg of the league finals. He subsequently was named the K-League's Most Valuable Player on December 28, 2005.

In the 2006 World Cup, he scored South Korea's first goal with a free-kick against Togo in a 2-1 win.

Lee is set to make his second foray into Europe, this time to Wigan Athletic of the English Premier League.

Always handy with the free-kicks, the player had taken his set piece skill to a new level and was unerringly accurate from 20-30 meters.

He began dating Korean actress Kim Ji-Woo in 2005. At one point, rumors surfaced that he proposed to her, but he later denied it, saying he wasn't thinking about marriage in the near future. They split in September 2006.[1]
