Leicestershire Constabulary is the Home Office police force responsible for policing Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland in England. Its headquarters are based in Enderby.

The force is the merger of several old police forces, the old Rutland Constabulary being merged with the Leicestershire force in 1951, and Leicester City Police following in 1967. Until the Local Government Act in 1974 this combined force was known as 'Leicester and Rutland Constabulary'.

Proposals made by the Home Secretary on March 20, 2006 would see the force merge with the other four East Midlands forces to form a strategic police force for the entire region. [1]
