College Libertarian chapters operate in a variety of political and social forums. Members seeks to promote Libertarian party values on campus, in the community, and throughout the state. Chapter activities include holding political rallies, hosting guest speakers, fund raisers, registering voters, petitioning for fair ballot access, and serving as invaluable volunteers to local and statewide campaigns.

The College Libertarians and Republicans of University of North Carolina at Greensboro teamed together in an official complaint of an anti-discriminatory statement required for a student organization's constitution. The statement read: “The Anti-Discrimination statement must include that student organizations may not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, military, veteran status, political affiliation or sexual orientation.” In response the following statement was released: "It is clearly unreasonable to request political organizations to admit members of opposing political parties. To require them to do so would sabotage the level of political discourse on campus."
