Linkebeek

Linkebeek is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. The municipality only comprises the town of Linkebeek proper. On January 1, 2006 Linkebeek had a total population of 4,759. The total area is 4.15 km² which gives a population density of 1,147 inhabitants per km².
The official language is Dutch (as everywhere in Flanders). In 1954, special linguistic rights were given to local French-speakers (according to a 1947 census, they were more than 30%). French-speakers can request official documents from the local administration in French. They also have primary and maternity schools teaching in French.
