List of Alaska borough seats:

There are no counties in Alaska. Political subdivisions below the state level are known as boroughs. Administrative centers are called borough seats.

  1. Aleutians East Borough - Sand Point
  2. Municipality of Anchorage - (no borough seat; is a unified municipality)
  3. Bristol Bay Borough - Naknek
  4. Denali Borough - Healy
  5. Fairbanks North Star Borough - Fairbanks
  6. Haines Borough - Haines
  7. City and Borough of Juneau - (no borough seat; is a unified city-borough)

Large portions of Alaska are not part of any of the above boroughs. These areas are known collectively as the "Unorganized Borough," which is further divided into census areas. Although separate municipal governments exist within the Unorganized Borough, the borough itself is governed directly by the state and does not have a seat of its own. The census areas, listed below, likewise have no government and thus no seats.

  1. Aleutians West Census Area
  2. Bethel Census Area
  3. Dillingham Census Area
  4. Nome Census Area
  5. Prince of Wales-Outer Ketchikan Census Area
  6. Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon Census Area
  7. Southeast Fairbanks Census Area
  8. Valdez-Cordova Census Area
  9. Wade Hampton Census Area
  10. Wrangell-Petersburg Census Area
  11. Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area
