Cory Matthews winds up in detention after trying to listen to a Phillies game in class while his teacher, Mr. Feeny, is trying to teach the class the great value that love has in all of their lives. Cory simply does not see love and girls as such a good thing, especially when his older brother, Eric, takes a girl to a Phillies game instead of him— which prompts Cory to move into his treehouse. 

Cory is worried about the class water gun war, as he has no heavy-duty water gun to compete with. However, he soon strikes up a deal with Mr. Feeny: if he paints Mr. Feeny's shutters, he will give Cory the money to buy a new water gun. However, in his haste to paint the shutters, he accidentally gets paint on the fence. 

When Alan lets Cory stay up late to watch a baseball game, Cory falls asleep in class the next day at school and fails a test— and Mr. Feeny refuses to let him make it up. 

Cory decides that he wants to change his hairstyle, but it takes a turn for the worse, and he joins a group of social outcasts. Can Cory learn one of life's most important lessons when the only true friend he has left is a girl he would not be caught dead with? 

When Cory finds out that the winner of a geography bee will be a batboy at the World Series, he tries to bribe Minkus so that he can take his place at the contest. 

Cory cheats on an I.Q. test, and is labeled the smartest kid in class. However, the consequences for getting away with it are worse than getting caught: Cory may be transferred into a new school for smart kids. 

Alan's mother arrives, gives Cory a Cal Ripken rookie card, and promises to get it autographed by the man on the card himself. But, will she be able to keep this promise? 

When Cory insists that teaching is easy in comparison to learning, Mr. Feeny agrees to a bet, in which they temporarily switch roles: he allows Cory to handle his Social Studies classes for one week, while he takes his place a student. Can Cory really handle the stresses of being a teacher? 

Cory's dream to be a big-league baseball star is crushed by Mr. Feeny when the class is assigned to envision its 20th reunion. 

Chet, Shawn's father, loses his job, and Cory vows that Shawn will have a Christmas gift this year. Morgan is also traumatized when a shopping mall Santa suffers a heart attack as she gets onto his lap. 

The father/son softball game is coming up, but Cory and Eric do not want to play. Alan finds out how they feel, and he tells them that the game was canceled, but Cory finds out (from Topanga) that the game, in fact, was played. 

While Cory is working on a difficult math problem, he chances upon another conundrum: he accidentally discovers provocative clothing in his mother's bag, and assumes that she is having an affair. 

Eric appears at Mr. Feeny's class as a guest speaker to talk about their future at high school, but he does not tell them the whole truth: that they are about to leave a sheltered life for the real world. Meanwhile, Topanga develops a crush on Eric, but Cory gets the impression that her affections are directed at him. 

Cory and Minkus are put on the Basketball B-Team for their school, which never gets to play. However, Cory also gets the feeling that he is on the "B-Team" with his own family. 

Cory learns that there is no such thing as a perfect family when his class is assigned to get in a group with three other classmates and work together as a family; Eric believes that he can get a job as a model. 

Cory and Shawn bet on racehorses for a school project, but they soon learn— the hard way— that there are things in life that are not worth risking. 

Shawn is afraid of getting into trouble after a cherry bomb prank gone wrong - he blew up Alan Matthews' supermarket's mailbox, so he runs away from home, and asks Cory if he can stay in his room in secrecy. Now, Cory and Shawn will learn both how fragile and how vital friendship is. 

Cory and Shawn try and sneak an R-rated movie into the house when the family will be out, but their plans are put in jeopardy when Mr. Feeny becomes their baby-sitter; Eric has failed his driving test, but he still decides to drive. Who's getting into trouble tonight? 

For Cory's birthday, Alan gives him a necklace with two silver boxing gloves on it, but Cory belittles his gift and carelessly loses it. However, he'll regret that mistake when he learns their true value. 

Cory is cast to play Hamlet in the school production, but he quickly drops the role because he can not get what he wants. The part goes to Minkus, who, quite frankly, cannot act to save his life. Meanwhile, Alan Matthews takes a pay cut from his manager, but Cory believes that, like himself, his father should take a stand and quit. 

When Cory's class watches a film on puberty and how it can affect your emotions, Shawn gets his first date— and in his attempt to catch up, Cory asks Topanga out. 

Cory wishes that Mr. Feeny could get sick so that his class would not have to take a big geography test. But he ends up with more then he bargained for— when Mr. Feeny ends up in the hospital. 

Cory and Shawn are starting 7th grade. They get Eric to make them a guide to John Adams High School. However, a simple manual would not make Cory's first day perfect; he runs into the school bullies led by Harley Kiner. When he accidentally gets Harley into trouble with the new principal- Mr. Feeny- it may be both Cory's first and last day. 

Cory realizes that everyone at school - even Shawn - has paired off into couples. So when he unexpectedly discovers one of Eric's secrets, he forces him to give advice on "how to get a girl to say hi." However, taking advice from Eric may prove to be a mistake. 

Eric is going out with a Senior who just uses him to get what she wants. Meanwhile, Shawn wants to make a name for himself, so he changes the school paper to say that "New Principal is Weeny." But when a witness places Cory at the scene of the crime, he must choose between turning in his friend or facing suspension. 

When the staff lies to Cory's class about an upcoming test, Cory attempts to use what he learned in "The Grapes of Wrath" by launching a student protest. However, he soon learns the lesson hidden in the novel: that there is a price to pay for doing what you think is right. 

Cory thinks he's cool when he's invited to his first high-school party by the exclusive-minded Melissa; but surprisingly his popular friend Shawn is not on the guest list. Now, he will learn the true meaning of friendship. 

In this Halloween episode, Cory gets bitten by a runaway "wolf." Unfortunately, he starts getting symptoms which a fortune-teller says may be signs that he is turning into a werewolf. 

When the class cannot understand "Much Ado About Nothing", Mr. Turner launches a new controversial project: he asks his students to videotape each other with their views on love and sex. However, when Cory and Topanga stay overnight at the school to finish their project, they themselves become a scandal story. 

Cory and Shawn pretend that they're in a band so that they can impress girls. This inspires Alan to connect with his former bandmates. But while this creates some problems for him, Cory and Shawn face a bigger dilemma: they are accidentally booked as the entertainment for the school dance. Guest Stars: Rick Nielsen as Gordy, Billy Vera as Larry, Micky Dolenz as Norm. 

Cory and Shawn go to a make-out party. But when Cory cannot get through "seven minutes in heaven" with Topanga, he becomes the laughingstock of the school. 

Cory wins a girl's heart with a little politeness - but he better stay respectful, because she's Harley Keiner's kid sister, who never takes no for an answer. 

When Shawn cannot decide between two girls, he asks Cory to date one of them while he gets to know the other. However, Cory falls for the girl he's supposed to "hold" for Shawn. Is he simply going to let Shawn take her back? 

A "turnaround" dance gives girls a chance to ask guys out, but that does not take any pressure off Cory, who now worries about who'll ask him - if anyone. Very unfortunately for Cory, it may turn out to be a dance abundant in rejection. 

Cory and Shawn help Frankie express his feelings to a schoolmate - who turns out to be Harley's girlfriend. Also, Alan Matthews makes a bad choice for his anniversary present. Now, they must all learn what women want. 

Shawn nominates Cory for class president and manages the campaign. But will Cory keep his cool when his initial campaign platform of honesty collapses, or will he just become another "politician"? 

Cory gets a date for a "couples" party. Shawn nudges him to end the relationship before it goes on too long. But Cory cannot find the nerve to dump her. Will they be stuck together forever? 

When his girlfriend's younger cousin comes to town, Eric asks Shawn - instead of Cory - out on a double date. Also, Mr. Feeny is insulted when the staff assumes he wants to head the most boring club. This leads both Cory and Feeny to seek out a more reckless image. 

Mr. Feeny pulls the plug on Cory and Shawn's high-school radio show after the boys switch to a less than scholarly format for their station. 

An attractive history tutor helps Eric prepare for a test that might raise his grade average enough to allow him to go on a school trip to Europe, then offers to help him cheat because she finds him attractive; Cory tells Topanga he contracted mono by kissing someone. 

A demoralized Shawn hangs out with the wrong crowd; Eric gets a dream skating lesson from Nancy Kerrigan. 

Shawn and Cory accidentally discover the answers to a forthcoming test. While Frankie and Joey search for a new leader. 

Cory may finally have an extracurricular activity to list in the yearbook after he's bullied into joining the high school's wrestling team. 

Shawn is left feeling like a fifth wheel in Cory's house when his mother drives off with the family's mobile home and his father leaves to track her down. 

When his parents abandon him, homeless Shawn moves in temporarily with the Matthews. 

A new school year has started. Eric continues to worry about college, so he signs up for a movie club and must sell tickets to an unpopular film. Meanwhile, Cory has his heart set on asking Topanga out, but he cannot get the nerve to do so. Unfortunately, his reluctance costs him: Shawn informs him that he has already asked her out. Its turns out to be a set up for Cory and Topanga to get to be a couple. 

Shawn has a hot date for the weekend, but those plans are derailed when Jonathan tells Shawn he'll be out of town over the weekend. However, Shawn refuses to break off his date and ends up taking her to Jonathan's apartment, where he finds a surprise. 

When Cory tells Topanga "I love you", he earns the ill will of nearly everyone he knows: Shawn and Eric know that every girl in the school will expect to hear those same three words. But more importantly, Topanga also seems very upset about it, and decides to break things off with him. 

Shawn takes a new guidance counselor's advice too literally and decides to leave school and run away from Mr. Turner; one-time school bully Harley Kiner returns from reform school to face off with the new head bully. 

Cory and Shawn sneak into the chem lab, and accidentally start a fire which Cory puts out. However, he gets more than he bargained for when the whole school gives him credit for being a hero. 

Eric is having aspirations to go to Yale. Will Feeny support this insane endeavor? Meanwhile, Shawn decides to keep an abandoned pig as a pet, but Topanga feels that an apartment is not a proper environment for a hog. Will Cory side with his best friend, or his girlfriend? 

Cory and Shawn soil Janitor Bud's reputation when they produce a videotaped report on time-clock fraud for media-arts class. 

Eric and Cory decide to throw a rave, but they pick the worst possible date to have a party: the same day as his parents' wedding anniversary.. The Monkees' Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork guest star as Gordy, Reginald and Jedidiah. 

While Topanga is sick, Cory becomes the object of another girl's insistent affections. Will he give into temptation? Eric spends his money in a get-rich-quick scheme. Does he have a piece of valuable baseball memorabilia, or a piece of junk? 

Due to circumstances they would prefer to forget, Eric, Cory, Shawn and Topanga celebrate the New Year in a stranded subway car. 

Cory and Shawn sneak off to Mr. Feeny's mountain cabin for a weekend of fun; Eric and Frankie engage in a marathon billiards match. 

Feeling uncomfortably domesticated, Cory forsakes a date with Topanga for a boys' night out at another school's party, and is mistaken for Shawn - an error he fails to correct when he sees how popular it makes him. 

Mr. Feeny asks Cory and Shawn to take school tough guy Frankie under their wing, and they discover his reputation makes the younger students their willing slaves. Also, Jonathan's rich former girlfriend wants to see him again. 

At Shawn's urging, Cory reenters the dating world, but he cannot bring himself to kiss his date Melissa because he's still in love with Topanga— but she's busy locking lips with another guy. (First appearance of Morgan in more than a season.) 

Shawn's "bad boy" image costs him a date with a "nice girl"; so, he recruits Cory to teach him to be "boyfriend material." 

Eric's devotion to the TV station is affecting his grades and endangering his chances of graduating; things start to heat up between John and Dana's mom Susan. 

While filming a video for Shawn, Cory catches some criminals red-handed and wants to enter a TV-news contest, but Shawn objects and destroys the tape. Meanwhile, a money-hungry Eric attempts to find valuable objects amongst his parents' old junk. 

Cory's classmates are antagonized by Mr. Feeny's severe exam schedule, and decide to retaliate by vandalizing his home. Meanwhile, Eric dates an older woman, whom his mother was hoping to fix up with Mr. Turner. 

Cory gets a shock when a microwave mishap transports him back to the 1950s, where his post-Cold War knowledge of Russian space experiments gets him mistaken for a spy. 

Jonathan decides he's finally ready to assume responsibility as Shawn's legal guardian, but Shawn only wants to be with his father Chet. Meanwhile, Mr. Feeny strong-arms Eric into tutoring class athlete Jeff. 

Cory cannot keep his mind off Topanga, and tries to woo her by following her to Disney World, but Topanga gets angry at him because she believes he came all this way for another girl, Kristen. 

Cory dreads his upcoming summer vacation when he realizes that Topanga's going to camp, Shawn's traveling with his father, and Eric's leaving for college - and not coming home again. 

Nearing the end of last season's summer road trip, Cory agrees to a final pit stop— without realizing that Eric intends to make it a permanent one because he feels that there's nothing there for him back home. Meanwhile, winning a company award makes Alan consider whether or not he's really happy with his current employment as a supermarket manager. 

After Cory expresses his insecurity about his hair, Topanga cuts off six inches of her own hair, in an attempt to show him how meaningless outward appearance is compared with inner beauty. However, she soon realizes that even she can be self-conscious when she gets a glimpse of herself with her new 'do'. Meanwhile, Eric refuses to look for a job, and instead lazily stays home watching daytime TV— but what will he do when he gets a glimpse of the real world? 

Alan goes to demand a raise, but he instead quits his job as a supermarket manager— something that shocks all of the Matthews, including himself. His wife, Amy, becomes furious that he has made a decision that affects their entire family without talking to her about it first. And, a hysteric Cory enlists Shawn's help in an attempt to learn how to cope with poverty. 

After having run away from her family over a year ago, Shawn's mother Virna is back. However, she woould not actually return to her family until Shawn and Chet can prove that they're really willing to live like a family. Also, after learning from the Hunters that you do not truly appreciate someone until she's gone, Cory thinks of ways to inspire students to honor the late Brenda, a beloved and devoted cafeteria lady. 

When Eric offends Corinna, a perky but weird girl who writes strange lyrics, she composes a nasty song about him, and as a result Eric gains instant notoriety— or rather, infamy. Meanwhile, Topanga feuds with Cory because she fears that their differing viewpoints on child rearing could affect their long-term future. This episode features dialogue paralleling the concurrent rescheduling of Boy Meets World to a later time slot in an example of breaking the fourth wall. 

When Verna gives Chet an ultimatum to find work, he lands a job as the school janitor, to Shaun's humiliation. Meanwhile, Alan and Eric look for experienced help at the store, and answering their call is a mountain man who will do anything to make a sale. 

Eric has been having bad luck dating, so he says that he is attending Harvard so that he can appear on MTV's Singled Out. Meanwhile, Cory must undergo an operation, but when he listens to a rumor that Shawn tell him about, he begins to worry that he'll vanish from the operating room. 

When Cory discovers that attractive Claire has been sleeping over at Shawn's place, he jumps to the obvious conclusion, especially when Shawn swears him to secrecy. But Cory learns that they have a much more serious, much more dangerous problem. 

Frankie seeks Cory and Shawn's help to earn the love of his father, Vader when Vader wrestles Jake "The Snake" Roberts at a World Wrestling Federation house show. However, the match takes place the same day as Topanga's Sweet Sixteen— forcing the kid who "wants everyone to love him" to both help a friend and celebrate a girlfriend's birthday at the same time. 

Cory and Shawn are given an assignment over the Thanksgiving weekend about the class differences that are the heart of the conflict in Rwanda, and are quick to assume that these same divisions, between the haves and the have-nots, do not exist in Philadelphia. But they learn better when their respective families do not show full enthusiasm in spending their Thanksgiving together. Meanwhile, Frankie's younger brother Herman hears that the Matthews are coming to the trailer park, and he decides to try to sweetheart Cory's sister, Morgan. 

Shawn is in shock when his girlfriend, Jennifer, dumps him. To try to help him, Cory starts badmouthing Jennifer to Shawn. But when Jennifer finds out about this, she agrees to make up with Shawn— as long as he and Cory end their friendship. 

Comedy veterans Buddy Hackett and Soupy Sales play two businessmen of a shady sort who hire Cory to run "errands" for them. Since it is just before Christmas, Cory decides he can use the money for his holiday shopping. However, Cory quits once he figures out that the two gents are part of "the mob." Shawn takes over, but Cory must persuade his pal to quit as well, before he gets in over his head - or hit over the head. (Touchstone press release.) 

Shawn, in a crazy scheme to get his economics project done and make some real money at the same time, convinces Cory to turn Feeny's quaint home into a Bed & Breakfast while their unsuspecting teacher is out of town. Meanwhile, Eric and Feeny surprise each other when they bump into each other in Boston and start to develop a friendship. 

Alan finds himself at a crossroads when Cory, armed with a new driver's license on his 16th birthday, would rather celebrate the event on a road trip with Shawn and Topanga instead of with him. 

The war between the sexes starts heating up at John Adams High when the boys realize that girls expect different things when out on a date. When it is suggested to Cory that his school newspaper column is a tad boring, Shawn gives him a story idea on dating and sexual harassment based on the book they're reading in Mr. Feeny's class: Black Like Me. After Cory emerges from the bathroom in full regalia, it is decided that Shawn would make a better girl: he's studied them much more carefully. Making his debut at school, Shawn, now Veronica Wasboyski, immediately gets asked out by Gary, one of the school's more well-known Lotharios. Shawn soon finds out what it's like to push off a teen boy's advances. Meanwhile, Eric tries to teach mountain-reared Lonnie how to get along with city men. 

Eric accidentally discovers that Shawn and Topanga have a secret when he finds them behaving more than friendly at Chubbie's, and he tells Cory about it. Unfortunately, they only know half the truth— and tensions rise between friends and family as Cory tries to find out the real reason Shawn and Topanga are acting so strangely. 

Cory is taking Topanga's departure very hard, and is wavering between depression and anger. Fortunately for him, a surprise visitor comes to help him: Topanga is back! But, the couple will need to convince their friends and family that theirs is a true love if they want a shot of her staying in Philadelphia. 

When Eric learns that his new girlfriend Kelly has a son, he's confident he's mature enough to handle the responsibility - but too scared to tell his parents about it. Meanwhile, Cory and his friends prepare for the dreaded SAT's. 

The producers of a dull but prestigious academic bowl sense a hit after Cory, Shawn and Topanga become star contestants by enlivening the show with their humor and pop culture knowledge. But Mr. Feeny concludes that today's modern world puts entertainment before education when the show's newfound popularity causes it to change its questions from brainy to brainless. 

Eric's schemes are bankrupting the store, but Alan is reluctant to fire him, so Amy does. Consequently, Eric decides to leave home and take a job as a security guard. However, Mr. Feeny knows that Eric's only looking for an easy way out, and tries to convince him to give the SAT and college another try. Meanwhile, Cory and Topanga try to get Shawn to join Mr. Feeny's SAT preparation class. 

When a lonely Shawn starts hanging around with a new group of people whom he defensively describes as "not a cult," Jonathan Turner tries to stop him before it's too late— but Shawn does not want his help because he does not believe Mr. Turner really cares about him. Note: This episode aired almost one month after Heaven's Gate cult mass suicide. 

Eric invites Cory and his friends to come with him to a potential college. However, Topanga is not coming, a disappointment which leaves him vulnerable- to a coed named Mary Beth. Meanwhile, Eric's doubt that any real college will accept him leads him to consider staying at a surfer school. Will they be able to "walk away from a sure thing?" Or will they throw away everything they've worked hard to keep? 

Cory is so upset when Eric moves back home that he vows to find him a place to stay. But the perfect roommate he picks out is Shawn's long-lost half-brother, and there's no love lost as far as Shawn is concerned. 

In the vein of MTV's "The Real World", Cory films a documentary about Jack, Shawn, and Eric adjusting to their new lives. However, when friction develops between Jack and Shawn, Cory must decide whether or not to continue filming his movie or help two friends in trouble. New roommates Eric, Shawn and Jack are the focus of Cory's student film, and it is not long before the trio's plot thickens: Shawn and Jack cannot get along as brothers. Meanwhile, Topanga thinks Cory should prove himself more of a friend than a filmmaker. 

After Shawn and Cory agree to attend the same college, Shawn learns Cory's made interview plans on his own - and the two decide it's time to go their separate ways. Meanwhile, Eric thinks befriending the dean will ease his and Jack's college experience. 

After attending a college class and engaging in a winning debate with a professor, an empowered Shawn neglects high-school tasks in favor of collegiate ones - and gets suspended. Meanwhile, Eric forms his own fraternity (Magnum Pi), and arises the Dean's suspicions. 

Witches seem to be invading Pennbrook College when Jack's new spooky girlfriend Millie causes a serious rift between the roommates after Eric tells Jack that he caught her practicing witchcraft; and an unsuspecting Eric goes on a date with a teenaged witch named Sabrina. Guest Hart crosses over in her role from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Meanwhile, Cory takes Topanga on her first airplane ride, flown by a not-so-bright pilot. 

The time ball swallowed by Salem the Cat from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch takes everyone back to the 1940s: Cory becomes a soldier fighting on the dangerous front lines in Europe, who wants his best buddy Shawn to marry his girl Topanga if he does not return. 

Shawn's steadfast rule of dating girls only for a fixed two-week period leads him to break up with Angela; then he finds himself falling in love with the owner of a purse he finds, since the contents indicate that she is the girl of his dreams. Meanwhile, Eric studies for a test with the help of an invisible Mr. Feeny, while Jack wonders about Eric's sanity. 

An eager Cory encourages Shawn to consider the same type of long-term relationship he has with Topanga - except that the two of them start not to get along so well. Meanwhile, Jack and Eric are nervous about hosting Thanksgiving dinner for the Matthews family at their new apartment. 

Confident Cory is amazed when Shawn is more successful at their work-study jobs: Shawn proves to be a whiz at public relations, while Cory gets stuck in the mail room. Meanwhile, Amy goes back to college, but her participation in Eric's creative writing class embarrasses him with her extremely frank self-revelations. 

Cory and Shawn are loco with jealousy when the girls get jobs at a Mexican restaurant and start dancing the night away with two handsome, suave co-workers. 

Cory wonders if he's being henpecked when Topanga spends the holidays with the Matthews family and takes charge of the festivities. Cory plans to surprise Topanga, who's spending Christmas at his house, with a promise ring that means they'll be together forever. But he's unnerved by moments of doubt after learning that he and Topanga - who have so much in common---have very different holiday traditions: she drinks cider rather than eggnog; she prefers a fresh-cut tree to an aluminum one; and she opens gifts on Christmas Eve, not in the morning. When it seems Topanga's unwilling to compromise, Cory has serious misgivings about the ring - and their future. 

Cory gets so upset that Alan engages only in conversation with him, but plays sports with Eric, that he knocks Alan down. So Alan and Eric kidnap Cory and take him sky diving. Afterward, Cory feels better, but now Eric's miffed that he and his dad rarely have meaningful chats. 

Upset that the seniors are slacking off, Mr. Feeny threatens to issue F's and assigns personal goals to Shawn, Topanga and Cory: Shawn is to find two tickets to the Super Bowl, Topanga is to refrain from interfering, and Cory is to help them. He will fail if either fail. Meanwhile, Eric and Jack search for soul mates. 

When Cory sprains his ankle falling off the bus during the Senior Class ski trip to the Mount Sun Lodge, he cannot let on to Topanga that he feels attracted to the young lady, Lauren, who's been assigned to take care of him. 

It's Valentine's Day, and Shawn's jilted exes are so sure he'll ruin his date with Angela that they kidnap him to keep him from hurting her. Meanwhile, Cory's in trouble after Topanga reads a letter to him from another girl named Lauren (the "cute mountain girl" assigned to take care of him in the previous episode). 

Cory is torn between making up with Topanga, or allowing himself to see how it would be to go out with the girl he met during the Senior Class ski trip. Meanwhile, Feeny entrusts Eric to be a substitute teacher for Feeny's Citizenship class. 

Feeling that Cory and Topanga's break-up is having severe ramifications on his life, Shawn instigates a classwide argument, prompting Mr. Feeny to send them all into detention. However, in a parody of Scream, South Park, Scooby-Doo, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and And Then There Was None, it soon develops into a detention like none of them have ever experienced. Jennifer Love Hewitt guests stars as Jennifer Love Fefferman.

Depressed by their break-up, Cory gets a reputation of being a "downer." Looking to shake the reputation, he steals a bottle of Alan's whiskey and goes to a party. When Shawn catches Cory in the act, he convinces Shawn to try it as well. Cory tries to get over his estrangement from Topanga by drinking alcohol at a party, but there's more trouble in store after Shawn joins in his friend's indulgence. 

When Eric's shoddy set design injures the star of the college play, Eric assumes his role. After a surprisingly superb Shakespearean acting debut, Eric is invited to join the the cast of the hit ABC sitcom Kid Gets Acquainted with Universe. But when he arrives at the studio, he discovers that the shallow, egotistical, and neurotic actors (played by the cast of Boy Meets World) are not at all like their roles. Meanwhile, Topanga tries to salvage her relationship with Shawn, who's not sure he can remain friends with both her and Cory in the wake of their breakup, after he and Jack come down with chicken pox. 

A once in a lifetime Van Gogh retrospective makes Cory blue: he stood in line all night to get tickets for himself and Topanga, but she has gone with Angela instead - and met a terrific, intelligent and sensitive guy, Ricky Ferris (Jonathan Jackson), who claims she has already changed his life once (by beaning him in softball and convincing him to give up sports for art), spends all day with her looking at Van Gogh's "Starry Night", and demands a dinner date with her. Cory remains adamant that he will love Topanga forever and that kissing Lauren meant nothing to him. Topanga cannot bring herself to believe him until Ricky kisses her - and she rushes to tell Cory that it meant nothing to her and that she still loves him. 

A reconciled Cory and Topanga pretend to be estranged so Shawn can be the one to "reunite" them, despite Mr. Feeny's warning that they are "boarding the train of terrible mistakes". Shawn's mediation tactics lead to more turmoil for the duo: when he encourages them to be open about their hurt feelings, they insult each other and break up again. It's finally up to Shawn (with an assist from Cory's parents) to set things straight once and for all. 

It's a big night: Senior Prom, and Shawn and Cory plan to "leave as boys and come back men." Angela quickly decides she and Shawn are not ready for sex, but Topanga feels that she and Cory may be ready, as long as the night goes "exactly, perfectly right." Meanwhile, Amy is upset because of how Alan reacts to her recent good news: she's pregnant. To make up for it, he decides to check them into a hotel: the same one where the prom is being held. 

Cory is distressed when he realizes that his entire world is changing around him: Shawn considers not going to college, Topanga considers going to Yale, Chubbie's is reformed as "Peg-Leg Pete's", and Mr. Feeny intends to retire. The anxiously awaited college acceptance letters have finally arrived. But Cory, who expects his longtime friends will want to continue as classmates, finds that everything cannot always go according to his plan. 

It's the end of an era as Cory, Shawn, Topanga, Angela and the rest of their class prepare to graduate. In the final week, Mr. Feeny assigns the class to write about "what is in their hearts." While Shawn ignores the assignment at first, seeing as high school is now over, he comes to realize that his school days meant more to him than he realizes. Meanwhile, Topanga wrestles with going to Yale or staying with Cory. Cory tries to hide his lying eyes and convince Topanga that he wants her to go away to Yale; and Shawn surprises everyone with his indifference toward graduation. Meanwhile, Eric tries to keep Mr. Feeny from retiring; and Topanga slyly secures the valedictorian position and asks Cory to marry her. Stuart Minkus, Joey the Rat and Frankie the Enforcer make one final appearance. 

6th season premiere. The series' main couple deals with the shock of the proposal in the previous season's finale. 

If he was stunned when Topanga proposed, Cory is speechless when Topanga finds she cannot say "I do"; but on the long drive home he admits she was right, they are not ready to be married, and they want their families to be there when they are ready. They return home to find everyone assembled for a newlywed's party and, before they can announce the truth, an angry diatribe from Amy. Meanwhile, both Eric and Jack start vying for the attention of grateful new roommate Rachel; and the newlywed party gets turned into a retirement party for Mr. Feeny interrupted by an angry (and comedic) diatribe from Eric. 

On the first day of college, an ambitious Cory fills his schedule with tough courses but quickly cracks under the pressure and flees to Mr. Feeny's side in Wyoming. Meanwhile, Eric tries to be more sensitive so Rachel will be attracted to him. 

After she and Shawn call it quits because he wants to meet new people, Angela shuns Cory's offer of support, claiming they were never really friends; but after Cory pursues her into the coed bathroom (which he has been too terrified to enter), Angela confesses that she still has feelings for Shawn, pledging him to keep her secret "between friends." Meanwhile, Eric encounters Mr. Feeny in class as a student; but the presentation Feeny and Rachel make on free will versus environment only convinces the Dean that Feeny can only function in his present environment as a teacher. 

After Cory is introduced to art prodigy Alexandra Nechita, he develops an inferiority complex and blames his lack of skills on his "average" father. Meanwhile, Alexandra, lonely touring without anyone her own age, befriends Morgan. 

After a director has Shawn and Topanga kiss while making a film, Cory - certain the duo are harboring romantic feelings for one another - directs them to go on a date and explore their emotions. Meanwhile, Eric and Jack pretend to be mannerly in front of Rachel. 

Brother meets brother as Fred Savage guest stars in a sometimes intense episode, directed by series regular William Russ. Savage is cast as Stuart, a hip college teacher who's a favorite with students because he treats them as equals. But in a surprising departure from his squeaky clean characters from The Wonder Years and Working, Savage plays a Jekyll-and-Hyde character whose true colors are revealed when he hits on Topanga in her dorm room. When Cory later strikes back - literally - on behalf of his fiancee, Stuart tries to have him thrown out of school. 

To prove he's still "one of the guys" despite being engaged, Cory goes to a bikini club with scantily clad waitresses, where he loses his engagement ring and desperately tries to keep Topanga from finding out. She of course does - and reminds Cory that wearing the ring was his idea, and that he remains free to do what he wants within reason. Meanwhile, Rachel, at work on a term paper dealing with how women influence male bonding, observes Eric's and Jack's off-the-wall behavior with cool amusement. 

Cory reads Shawn's poemsat coffeehouse. 

In an effort to become more popular, Eric creates a TV show similar to Truman Show featuring his roommates, but it's Rachel who becomes the campus darling. Meanwhile, Cory and Shawn expect special treatment from Mr. Feeny. 

Now that Cory and Topanga both know that Shawn and Angela still love each other, they have conflicting views on what to do about it -- especially when, unbeknownst to each other, Cory invites Shawn to join their family Christmas while Topanga invites Angela. Topanga wants to let well enough alone, but Cory misses no opportunity to throw his friends together, but the consequences are not exactly what he wants: after they finally kiss, Angela expresses her love for Shawn, but he protests that he is "not ready" to make the same commitment and she storms off for good. Meanwhile, Eric takes his store Santa job a little too seriously when he convinces Rachel and Jack to help him steal his family's gifts in order to make underprivileged children happy. (Currently not in syndication) 

Shawn and Angela draw up a restraining order forbidding Cory and Topanga from any further interference in their romantic lives, but Shawn still has a difficult time seeing Angela date someone else -- especially when they all wind up in the same restaurant together. All 6 of them go to a restaurant and they start a karoake contest. Meanwhile, Alan tries to overcome his feeling too old for another baby by shopping for a motorcycle. 

Shawn and Jack's ne'er-do-well father Chet reappears on campus suddenly and, confronted by an angry Shawn, promises that he has come to stay and make amends to his sons for never being there for them. But after treating them to a steak dinner and consuming a piece of Rachel's "killer" chocolate cake, Chet suffers a heart attack. Shawn and Chet realize just how much they need each other, but by then it is too late. Shawn reveals that his anger at his father is partly fear that his own apparent inability to connect emotionally is inherited, and it appears a reconciliation might taken place -- then Chet has a second attack and dies. This is a powerful and quite touching episode, with a particularly affecting performance from Rider Strong. The episode's title is a line from the Harry Chapin song Cat's in the Cradle. 

Cory and Topanga play "The Fiancée Game" to prove how compatible they are, and are crushed when Eric and Rachel prove to know far more about each other than they do. Topanga suggests a quick solution: they should live together on campus and really get to know each other. (Cory mistakenly thinks this means sex and buys satin pajamas and sheets.) Living together shows them sides of each other they're not too crazy about: for example, his big toe clipping flies across the room and lodges in her already-applied facial cream. Meanwhile, Shawn has ignored Jack's repeated call about clearing out Chet's trailer, and, once persuaded, is freshly outraged to discover evidence that Chet went to Jack's stepfather for help in financing Shawn's college education. He decides to take the trailer out on the highway and convinces Cory to accompany him "for the weekend", but oddly insists on saying goodbye to Topanga. Then Jack, who has been struggling to contain his own grief in deference to Shawn's feelings, falls apart and cries helplessly in Rachel's arms; and Eric walks in to find them kissing passionately. 

To take his mind off his dad's death, Shawn takes Cory along on a soul-searching road trip in Chet's trailer, where they end up at a truck stop where the young waitresses (portrayed by band Nobody's Angel) are searching for something more, just like Shawn -- and Cory discovers that Shawn has no intention of returning home. Shawn must persuade Cory to let him go, just as the girls' father/boss must let them find their own way. Meanwhile, Eric tries to understand the kiss he witnessed between Jack and Rachel -- as do they; and Shawn discovers that his father, a truck stop regular, was secretly very proud of him. In a surprise code, Chet's ghost appears to Shawn as father and son finally reconcile their differences and Shawn drives off into his uncertain future. 

Cory becomes upset when Topanga seems less interested in spending Valentine's Day with him than with consoling Amy about the last stages of her pregnancy, so when Topanga decides to cheer Amy up with a baby shower, Cory takes charge. Unfortunately his concept of a baby shower turns out to be a female version of a bachelor party, complete with a pizza-guy stripper, but the disgusted guests are distracted when Amy's waters break and she is rushed to hospital for a premature delivery -- one which the new Matthews baby may not survive. Meanwhile, Shawn is still on the road to nowhere; Morgan is less than happy about the arrival of a new sibling; and Jack and Rachel worry about the effect of revealing their new relationship to Eric -- who announces he already knows, and is moving out. 

While everyone anxiously awaits news about newly born Joshua Matthews, Cory's continued self-absorption alienates Topanga, who now considers herself a member of the Matthews family. Even Eric's little friend Tommy views Joshua as his new "brother." It's only when Shawn returns and is accepted by the elder Matthews as "family" does Cory realize where his true values lie. (And, of course, the baby turns out to be fine, though the anxiety of the other parents of premature infants is not minimized.) 

Topanga is in wedding plan mode, and persuades (strongarms) Cory into accompanying her, Shawn and Angela to a posh ceremony in the hall of her dreams -- where an unhappy father of the bride offers Cory a million dollars to marry his daughter. Meanwhile, Tommy pleads with a heartbroken Eric to adopt him so he would not have to move to California, and Eric pretends to no longer want Tommy so he can be happy with his new family. 

The series returns to form as Cory and Shawn unite for the last time as a "bad boy" team to help Mr. Feeny, whose hesitation in declaring his feelings for Dean Bolander looks like a fatal mistake when her ex-husband Curtis Kinkade returns from an expedition bent on winning her back. Shawn and Cory trash the interloper's lab and blame in on a jealous rage by Feeny -- who then saves Dean Bolander's life for real by swatting the rare bee brought back by Curtis just before it stings his highly allergic love. She explains that she was not taken in for a moment by the boys' ruse -- just impressed that Feeny's students care about him so much. Meanwhile, Rachel challenges Jack to take her out on a real date. 

When Cory and Topanga make an agreement to tell the truth about everything and everyone, their totally honest pact creates tension at Rachel and Jack's first dinner party. When the party guests play a game that forces them to also tell the truth, personal feelings are revealed that they would rather keep to themselves. 

When Cory has nightmares where the recurring theme finds him trying to kill Shawn in imaginative ways, he goes to Feeny for an interpretation. Meanwhile, Eric finds a new, but odd, roommate -- one who seems to have seen Hitchcock's "Psycho" once too often. 

While Cory deals with his anxieties about his impending marriage, Topanga's parents (real-life couple Annette O'Toole and Michael McKean) come for a visit and reveal some unexpected news: they are on the brink of separating. Meanwhile, Feeny pops the question to Dean Bolander (real-life husband and wife William Daniels and Bonnie Bartlett), and they agree to get married in the Matthews living-room; and a self-pitying Eric asks Shawn for advice on how to cope with losing Rachel to Jack. 

Distraught to learn that her parents are getting divorced, Topanga tells Cory she wants to call off their wedding. As a result, he and Shawn travel to Pittsburgh in an attempt to persuade her parents to get back together— but instead learn the reason the couple divorced, and that "sometimes, love dies." 

Since both couples— Cory and Topanga; Shawn and Angela— have split up, the girls decide to challenge Jack and Eric to a wresting match which will decide who gets to keep the apartment with the WWF's Mankind as the referee, which the girls win handily— and Eric vows revenge on Topanga for beating him up so easily. 

Angela, who has been mysteriously reluctant to get back together with Shawn, deals with her reasons after a surprise visit from her military father. Meanwhile, Cory persists in getting Topanga to renew their engagement. Eric stalks (and then tries to attack) Topanga every chance he gets, living up to the vow he made in the previous episode. 

On the eve of the big game, Eric gets Jack to make a bet against Pennbrook. Meanwhile, Topanga's mother comes to visit her and try to convince her that the relationship between herself and her ex-husband is different than that between her daughter and Cory. However, it may be too little, too late, as Cory may be just about to give up on his relationship with Topanga. 

Jack and Eric must learn to deal with the "cold, cruel world" they live in when they take over as managers of the student union. Meanwhile, Cory and Shawn take advantage of their relations with Topanga and Angela and end up barging into Rachel's personal life. 

Topanga and Cory hash out their wedding woes: Cory must choose between his best friend and his brother for a best man; Topanga has a tough time choosing both her bridesmaids' dresses and her own wedding dress; Alan and Amy try to cut costs by hiring Mr. Feeny as the big day's musical attraction. 

Cory and Topanga's big day hits a major hitch after Eric alters their wedding locale and Shawn quits as best man. 

After Eric's stunt at the Philadelphia Victorian Hotel gets Cory and Topanga arrested, he attempts to make it up to them— by following them to their honeymoon; Cory and Topanga contemplate staying on their Honeymoon for the rest of their lives. Influenced by an elderly couple also living on the island. The couple help Cory and Topanga realize that family is more important than paradise. 

The honeymoon is over for Cory and Topanga when the newlyweds realize they have no home to call their own after Shawn moves into the girls' apartment and the Matthews refuse to take them in. Episode Rating 23 out of 50 

Newlyweds Cory and Topanga continue to look for a place to live after they get on their only friends' last nerves. Meanwhile, Angela and Rachel play the roommate shuffle once again, and Jack and Eric get a new boss at the student union. 

After Jack and Eric rat out a campus goon, they find life a "drag" when they pose as women— ugly women— to escape his clutches. Meanwhile, Topanga deals with Cory's horrible attempts at decorating the apartment, including school bus yellow and a trip to cork world 

Shawn struggles to accept the fact that he has no idea who his parents are. Meanwhile, Eric puts together a surprise party for his dad, who has an even bigger surprise for the despondent Shawn. 

Cory and Topanga's love nest turns into a battle zone after she lands a better job than his at-home telemarketing gig. Meanwhile, Eric gets his money's worth out of a lucky penny. 

Topanga develops an acute case of Cory-itis after he overreacts to his low score in a magazine's health quiz (which indicates he should already be dead). Meanwhile, Eric joins the family business and shocks his father by doing well at it— while Amy in turn is shocked at Alan's lack of faith in his son. The episode's title is a line from the Harry Chapin song Cat's in the Cradle. 

A fierce prank war ensues after Cory and Shawn diss Rachel (Shawn parks in her parking spot). Cory, Shawn and Topanga takes on Rachel, Angela and Jack, with Eric acting as a "neutral spy." But as the war escalates, it ends up bringing hidden troubles to the surface, and may break up this once tight-knit group forever. 

After a war of pranks goes too far and threatens to break up the old gang, Feeny steps in to help mend fences. But he finds that even his intervention may not be enough to reunite the once tight group. Eric defines the problem: "Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself"; if they cannot reuinte now, they never may-but they managed to overcome there differences. 

Topanga and Eric think they are fat, so they secretly go on a diet. But when Cory sees that Topanga is not eating the way she used to, he panics and comes to believe that she is pregnant— and ends up telling everyone he knows. 

Cory and Topanga try to shed their mundane personalities by hosting a bash on the same night as the school's biggest party of the year; Jack concocts a get-rich-quick scheme after a bump on the head grants Eric with telepathic powers. 

Family ties threaten to choke Eric and Cory when they argue over what to sell— and what to save— at a Matthews' garage sale; Jack and Shawn try to become more brotherly, but cannot find anything in common to bond over. 

A stressed-out Topanga is sucked back in time into a black and white 1940s world where she cannot remember her past. She hopes the suave owner of Rory's Shangri-La cafe and its eccentric patrons (portrayed by the show's cast) can provide clues to her identity. 

Angela's father says he wants to take her to Europe for a year, and Cory thinks Shawn would not be honest with himself letting the girl that he loves go away. But, while Cory injects himself into Shawn's relationship with Angela, he completely ignores a potential big change in his relationship with Topanga. Meanwhile, graduating seniors Eric, Jack and Rachel figure out their plans for after college. 

Cory wrestles with his fear of moving to New York for Topanga's internship, triggering---in flashbacks---a host of memories. When he finally opts to take Manhattan, it turns out that Shawn, Jack and Eric have all made big moving plans of their own. But before anyone leaves town, the crew makes one last stop---Mr. Feeny's classroom. There, their teacher offers them one last bit of advice before they go out and meet the world, "Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good." Eric instructs Mr. Feeny to admit he loves them. He refuses, they each share a tearful goodbye with their mentor, and leave. The series ends with Mr. Feeny saying to the empty classroom: "I love you all. Class dismissed."
