- ^ Phill's team later had this point rescinded as Tom Robinson used a kazoo-type instrument to keep in pitch
- ^ Mani's former band of course!
- ^ Junior Simpson won a bonus point for guessing the name of the band as well as the name of the song
- ^ Phill's team got the point, but as Billie Piper was on Sean's team, she got two points.
- ^ Phill's team had to do instrumental breaks, Sean's team had to do the outros.
- ^ a b c d e f g Christmas Special
- ^ The intros were performed to the teams by Rick Wakeman on piano and Bill Bailey on guitar. Parts of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and the themes to Black Beauty and The Addams Family were played to confuse the teams a little.
- ^ Instrumental breaks were performed to the captains
- ^ which Lamarr 'remixed' with the use of a hand-held button-stick
- ^ The actual intro was played in before Sean and Blade did their intro, as Tommy Vance "wouldn't have got it anyway."
- ^ Eurovision Song Contest special. Also Sean Hughes' last ever show.
- ^ Although Phill guessed the tune, Mark awarded the point to Bill's team, as the ageing Nicholas Parsons was struggling with his guesses.
- ^ Although Parsons guessed it was, for some strange reason, Eternal Flame, Atomic Kitten.
- ^ The teams had to play with children's toy instruments.
- ^ 100th Episode Special
- ^ Omar appeared on the show in the Identity Parade on the last episode in this series after Mark gave a monologue saying he wouldn't recognise Omar with his hair and without a Blockbuster Video card.
- ^ As Lionel Blair was on the show, they played this intros round like Give Us A Clue.
- ^ This week, for a change, the teams had to perform instrumental breaks
- ^ Rich Hall was annoyed about having to call the sky "Mister".
- ^ Phill's team had to perform TV cop themes, Bill's team had to perform classical music from TV adverts.
- ^ Mark, Bill and Matt Goss soon turned this into the theme from Bonanza, for which Bill's team were awarded a point. The theme was later played in to the surprise of Mark and the delight of the audience and panel.
- ^ Phill's team had to perform children's TV themes, Bill's team had to perform sitcom themes.
- ^ Intros were performed, in their own signature style, to Bill's team, by The Wurzels and, to Phill's, Bad Manners
- ^ Lamarr insists Garraway perform an intro to the others upon her failure - she chooses Dancing Queen, Abba
- ^ a b Lemarr then uses a stethoscope prop to 'listen' to Bez's, Bill's and his own, heads. From Bez we hear loud, heavy trance music, from Bill, the cries of birds of prey, and from Mark, "Suicide Is Painless", and, later, upon proclaiming his happiness at Bex's antics, a jaunty sea shanty
- ^ to which Lemarr sings Do Wah Diddy Diddy. When Bez seems to turn the question to Mark, he guesses it correctly, thus possibly winning the point himself
- ^ of which Lamaar gives a rendition, and Kenzie fails to guess, despite him knowing "all the melodies".
- ^ Lamar's suggestions: Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Manfred Mann; Theme from "The Bill"
- ^ Not the first time Richard Fairbrass has failed to guess his own tune!
- ^ confused with Theme from "Jaws"
- ^ actually Word Up!, Cameo, which Phill got, Lamarr later asserts that the intro was Daytrip to Bangor, Fiddler's Dram
- ^ actually Ray of Light, Madonna
- ^ Phill and Bill and guests had to perform the intros with a selection of instruments, including bagpipes, accordion, sitar and swanee whistle
- ^ 150th Episode Special. Also Mark Lamarr's final episode.
- ^ Bill sang the chorus (more importantly, the title), and was reprimanded for cheating. Whether or not a point was gained, or, indeed, lost, is not certain
- ^ 45-minute Bumper Edition
- ^ Intros were performed, with different instrument sets - Phill's team with children's toy instruments and Bill's team with medieval instruments.
- ^ During Phill and Dan Gillespie's rendition of this, Jewish host Simon lit a menorah, saying he was "lighting candles for the baby Jesus", before Phill said "Your people killed him! I don't mean your mum and dad, that would have been terrible!" Simon replied "I have no regrets - he deserved it!" to boos from the audience, before putting the menorah back under the desk.
- ^ This was not given, as Alan Davies cheated by picking up Phill's card.
- ^ When the intro was played in, Amstell used his new chair (rather poorly) in time with the music
