This is a list of ships that have served past and present in both the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) from 1911–1968 and Maritime Command (MARCOM) of the Canadian Forces from 1968–present.

"HMCS" is the abbreviation for "Her Majesty's Canadian Ship" or "His Majesty's Canadian Ship", depending on the gender of the current head of state.

Some ship names have been reused several times. Current naval policy is to name ships after important cities and towns in each province. Ships maintain a relationship with their "Namesake City" by encouraging visits and support to ship's crews during deployments.
