Lockwood railway station is situated 1½ miles (2km) from Huddersfield station on the Penistone Line between Huddersfield and Sheffield.
The station serves the Lockwood district of Huddersfield and is only a single platformed station. Train services are provided by the Northern Rail franchise.
The train line to Sheffield from Lockwood passes over the valley by a viaduct to Berry Brow. Below the viaduct is the Huddersfield Rugby Union Club at Lockwood Park, situated in the former Bass Brewery works, which has now closed down.
There is an hourly service to Huddersfield and Sheffield Monday to Saturdays and two-hourly on Sundays.
