The Louis Berger Group, based in East Orange, N.J., according to their website:

"...offers professional services in the areas of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering; program management planning; environmental sciences; cultural resources; information services; economics; and construction management and support. We have offices throughout the United States and in over 60 other countries, including England, France, India, Japan, Peru, the Philippines, Romania, Thailand and Turkey." [1]

Dr. Louis Berger, a graduate of Tufts College with a degree in civil engineering; an M.A. (soils and geology) from MIT; and doctorate (soil mechanics) from Northwestern, former faculty member of Penn. State's engineering department designed a large portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the first turnpike in the United States. After completion of the contract, from his office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he opened a second office, and, often employing local labor to fulfill international contracts has since been involved in the designing and building highways, railroad, bridges, and airfields in 120 countries.

Since its inception in 1953 the group of companies which comprise the Berger Group has grown into a large engineering, environmental planning and economic planning concern which employs 4300 people in more than 70 countries.
