Lust in the Dust is a 1985 film starring Divine, Tab Hunter, Cesar Romero, and Lainie Kazan, directed by Paul Bartel. It takes its title from a longstanding nickname given to the 1946 Western Duel in the Sun.

Lust in the Dust tells the story of a lonely, large dancehall girl (Divine) wandering through the desert in search of the town of Chile Verde. She happens upon Hunter as a hunky, butch and silent cowboy who leads her to the town.

The people of Chile Verde seek a hidden treasure, the key to whose location being a limerick that none of them can decode. The bar is also the whorehouse, and humor ensues as the madame (Kazan) and Divine both vie for the affections of Hunter, while numerous character actors fill in the supporting comedic roles. Divine and the madame ultimately discover they are long-lost sisters.

For his performance in this film, Divine was nominated for the Worst Actor award in the 1985 Golden Raspberry Awards, but did not win.
