MB-150

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MB-150 sniper rifle is a fictional weapon in the game Syphon Filer: Dark Mirror and is used by Gabriel Logan, the main character. It comes with a zoomable scope and fires 6mm nonsilenced rounds with a 10 round magazine. The main reason that this weapon does not exist is that it has the ability to fire remote-activated darts. In Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, the weapon is supplied with three types of these darts. The explosive dart is silenced when fired, but explodes when activated (the activation is not silent). The X34 gas darts discharge a cloud of nerve gas and self-destructs when activated. This is silent and allows an area affect. In the training mission, it was said that the cloud of gas stayed in one area and dissipated slowly because of special aerosol properties. However, at the end of the game, the main antagonist in the game, Singularity, hints that the MB-150 rifle and the X34 gas darts were supplied from a shady source. This suggests that the X34 gas darts have its properties not due to special aerosol properties, but due to being the Dark Mirror nerve gas that Gabe had been trying to investigate and eliminate the whole time. Gabe's partner Lian Xing, uses a VSS-DU, also a fictional weapon, but has the same function as the MB-150 rifle.
