MTV (Music Television) Pakistan or IM-MTV is the Pakistani subsidiary of MTV, a cable television network headquartered in New York. This dedicated beam is setup in collaboration with a local music channel known as Indus Music for the purpose of bringing the world together through music and promote the burgeoning Pakistani music industry. This platform provides the upcoming and talented Pakistani artists with an opportunity to get global recognition as Indus Music/MTV Pakistan is currently offered in Pakistan and 64 countries.
The first VJ to appear on MTV Pakistan was the suave and trendy 'Wiqar Ali Khan' who kick started the live transmission, said to be the most popular VJ in that region.
MTV Pakistan launched with Wiqar Ali Khan, the multiple award winner and 2006 Style Icon. Wiqar is a British Pakistani, an International SuperModel,TV presenter and considered the no.1 VJ of Asia.
Wiqar is hosting 'MotoAlert' the international show with MTV and Motorola; and the main driving shows for the channel, MTV Style Guru, MTV Requested and MTV TOP 10.
Wiqar is the Brand Ambasador for Motorola alongside David Beckham.
