Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. is a Canadian computer animation and design company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and Los Angeles, California, USA. It produces children's computer animation TV series. They are most famous for creating the music video for the Dire Straits song Money for Nothing. and producing the first ever CGI animated series Reboot. As well as the acclaimed Transformers spin-off Beast Wars

On September 16, 2003, IDT Media announced that its animation unit, Digital Production Solutions, signed a binding Letter of Intent to acquire a controlling interest in Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. The acquisition was completed in December 2, 2003, making it part of IDT Entertainment. On May 16, 2006, IDT sold its IDT Entertainment division to Liberty Media.

On 2006-7-20, Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. announced RNK Capital Limited Partnership, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rainmaker Income Fund, has entered into an agreement to purchase 62% of the outstanding common shares of Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. from IDT Entertainment Inc. and its affiliates. The acquisition was expected to close on 2006-7-31.[1]

On 2006-8-29, Rainmaker Income Fund and Mainframe Entertainment, Inc. announced Mainframe and RNK Capital Limited Partnership had entered into a definitive agreement under which RNK Capital Limited Partnership will acquire the balance of the 38% of the outstanding shares of Mainframe which are not owned by RNK Capital LP by way of an amalgamation. Upon completion of the acquisition by RNK Capital LP, the businesses of Mainframe and Rainmaker Animation & Visual Effects will be fully integrated under the corporate name 'Rainmaker Entertainment Inc.'[2]
