Mario Gomez García (born July 10, 1985 in Riedlingen) is a professional Spanish-German football player who currently plays for VfB Stuttgart.

He made his debut for the German national football team against Switzerland on February 7, 2007. Germany won the match 3-1, with Gomez scoring Germany's second goal.

Gomez broke his hand on March 10, 2007. Fox Sports News reported: "Gomez struck the medic's medicine box with his hand while being treated on the field during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg." This injury seems minor, however, compared to the torn ligament in his left knee that he contracted in that same game and that may sideline him for six weeks. [1]
