Marriott Vacation Club International is a timeshare program by Marriott International.

Marriott Vacation Club International was started in 1984 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with American Resorts. In 1985, Marriott Rewards was introduced to partner with the timeshare resorts. A year later, Marriott's Sabal Palms, the club's first resort, opens in Orlando, Florida adjacent to the Orlando World Center Marriott. The second timeshare resort was on the same property - Marriott's Royal Palms opens a year later. That same year, Marriott's Monarch opens up on Hilton Head Island. In 1989, Marriott's Desert Spring Villas opens up at the same time as the non-timeshare Desert Springs Marriott Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California. A year later celebrates the opening of the opening of the Marriott's Paradise Island Beach Club in Nassau, Bahamas, Marriott's StreamSide in Vail, Colorado, and Marriott's Cypress Harbour in Orlando, Florida.

In 1993, Marriott's Imperial Palm Villas opens at the site of the world center in Orlando. In 1994, Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado, and Marriott's Summit Watch in Park City, Utah. A year later, Marriott's Grande Ocean opens on Hilton Head Island. In 1996, Marriott's Kauai Beach Club opens along with the Kauai Marriott Resort in Hawaii, and Marriott's Marbella Beach Resort in Spain. Later that year, Nick Faldo joins Marriott to create the Faldo Golf Institute. It opens along with Marriott's Grande Vista, and is rated the best practice course on The Golf Channel.
