Marthe Keller

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marthe Keller (born January 28, 1945) is a Swiss actress who appeared in a series of French films in the 1970s. American audiences know her best for her Golden Globe-nominated performance as Dustin Hoffman's girlfriend in Marathon Man and as an Arab terrorist who leads an attack on the Super Bowl in Black Sunday. Keller also starred alongside William Holden under the direction of Billy Wilder, in the 1978 film, Fedora.

She was romantically involved with Al Pacino, with whom she co-starred in the unsuccessful auto racing film "Bobby Deerfield." Since then, Keller has worked steadily in European cinema, but has made few appearances in American movies.

In 2001, Ms. Keller was nominated for a Tony Award as Best Featured Actress, for her performance as Mrs. Bertholt, a German general's widow (a role played by Marlene Dietrich in the film), in the Broadway adaptation of Stanley Kramer's film Judgment at Nuremberg.
